LEADER GH contains two mutually complementary amino acids: L-arginine and L-ornithine. L-arginine is regarded as an amino acid that boosts the secretion of growth hormone. L-ornithine is twice as effective in this respect, however. When L-arginine and L-ornithine are taken together, fewer active ingredients are needed to achieve the same effect than if L-arginine is taken alone.

L-ornithine is part of the urea cycle. This cycle processes toxic ammonia into urea. In the process L-ornithine is attached to the ammonia, which is eventually converted into L-arginine. In absorbing water L-arginine turns into urea that is then excreted through the kidneys, and into L-ornithine, which can now bind new ammonia. L-ornithine increases the production and secretion of growth hormone, and is responsible for muscle building. L-ornithine also breaks down fat and increases energy production.
